I went for a walk around Sheffield city centre yesterday for the first time since lockdown.

It brought a tear to my 53-year-old eye.

What has happened to my beautiful city?

Nobody bumped into me saying ‘sorry love’, nobody with placards stating the end is nigh’, nobody pouring in and out of busy shops that have been there for years, but may never open again.

It was desolate.

But we are SHEFFIELD.

We will rebuild all that was amazing about Sheffield.
