“Speed limit will make no difference at all”

Just been reading that some streets in Hillsborough are to get 20mph signs installed and the residents are not very happy.

Well let me assure you, it will make no difference at all.

I thought all Sheffield had these restrictions years ago.

On Hackenthorpe, we have had 20mph on all side roads and 30mph on the main roads. Signs and road markings on every road.

I don’t drive, so as I walk around you can see speeding every day.

On one road there is a speed calmer reducing the road to single lane and I’ve actually seen cars speed up to get through before oncoming traffic.

It’s a few years since they were installed on our estate and it would be nice to know how many people have been caught speeding in that time.

So don’t worry Hillsborough residents, look on the bright side, with all the signs they put up, it means more places for your dogs to cock their legs up.
