Now Sheffield Council has decided to remove the cock-up, sorry, cycle-lane trial, at Shalesmoor, which I can only guess was dreamt up by somebody on a different planet, would it be possible for the council to publish how much it cost?

I don’t want to hear of it being referred to as a government grant which had to be spent, as this is still wasting money no matter where it comes from.

The two-fingered salute I received from the cyclist who made a point of weaving from side to side in the car lane suggests even the cyclists thought that the trial was a complete waste of time.

I’m looking forward to seeing the corrections to Pinstone Street being made so buses can once again access and people once more can reach the Heart of the City with the minimum of disruption.
