Reader's letter - Do not call this the City of Sport when you cannot re-open such an important venue as Ponds Forge

As usual Sheffield City Council is reverting to it’s narrow village mentality

Ponds Forge is an iconic, well used, nationally-recognised venue attracting diverse events and public and private functions.

Sheffield has produced many sportsmen and women who are a credit to Sheffield and their incredible training programmes.

Extending this closure is NOT due to the virus, but simply due to Sheffield City Council’s inability to appoint suitably qualified people, then regularly monitor, and supervise these appointees.

The council’s inability to promote and advertise Sheffield and all the many things it has to offer has been a noticeable failing for many years.

Do not call this the City of Sport when you cannot re-open such an important venue as Ponds Forge.
