By e mail the consultant recommended a course of tablets and that I should make an appointment with my GP who would give me the prescription, he also sent the same e mail to my GP.I tried for two mornings to contact my GP but no one would pick up. In desperation, and feeling really ill, I walked to Jaunty Springs Health Service and explained the situation, the receptionist told me I must try again to phone up tomorrow.

I explained I only wanted a prescription and could she just ask the doctor to make it out?

She told me to phone back at 5pm.

At 3pm the surgery phoned me and said they would not write a prescription as the consultant had ordered it and he should issue the prescription.

I contacted the consultant's secretary who says she would leave a note for she consultant to see what he could do. That was 3 days ago , so still got no medication, still feeling really poorly and I'm at a loss what to do as I can't get in contact with the consultant. This situation is simply not good enough.

The GP service or lack of it is appalling. It's all the NHS what difference does it make who writes the form. The NHS is a godsend but it really does need sorting out before chucking yet more money at it.
