They made it as tricky as possible for the UK to leave the EU club in order to warn other members of the fact that it would be useless for them to even try. But we DID IT much to the fury of the vehement Remoaners, some of whom still hanker for a return. We are now however about to witness the inevitable run to the exit of other members.

The likelihood is that with Angela Merkel on her way to retirement and Macron hardly likely to remain in power after next April, rumbles will become louder in Germany and France for change. The current EU President Ursula von der Leyen gives concern as regards to her leadership ability causing rifts within the existing membership; and they really don’t like the idea of us being the outstanding VACCI-NATION.

Admittedly there are, for us, post-Brexit major hurdles to overcome which were predictable when sour grapes come into play but history tells us that we have the skills to overcome pretty well anything that’s thrown at us.

Talking of sour grapes French wine is now off the menu with me having been forced upon me by so much French whining about our sceptred isle… this term refers only to England. Deliberately used to emphasise that the French are opposed to England and not Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, many of whose politicians appear to disassociate themselves from England anyway; in fact, the Scottish lady wishes to join the EU after independence. Good luck to her on both counts.

The fact that I’m a Huguenot has nothing to do with this French rant.
