While I was leading a walk for the Norfolk Arms Ringinglow walking group and a few minutes into the walk, this is what we came across.

The picture was taken on Houndkirk Road, which if you don't know it is now a footpath, right where there is an entrance way into Lady Canning's Plantation.

The path is one of the busiest in the area used by walkers, joggers, cyclists and occasionally, (legally), by off-roaders.

I use this footpath most weeks and I have never been on it without seeing other users.

This means that whoever dumped the rubbish, and from the amount and the way it's spread it looks to me like it came from a tipper truck, has done it in the middle of the night.

It's absolutely disgusting, and it makes my blood boil.

On closer inspection, most of the rubbish consisted of bottles and cans, which makes me wonder if it had come from a party or festival, there were actually two piles of rubbish, and it's not the first time I've seen this type of thing up there, on what is a beautiful part of Sheffield.

What on earth is society coming to?
