Letter: If you want Brexit done, then vote Tory

With only a few weeks before yet another General Election I have to say I am confused and slightly unnerved by one or two of the manifestos. Firstly, the Liberal Democrats state a majority vote for them would mean revoking Article 50 and remaining in the EU. I see the “Democrat” seems to have flown way over Jo Swinson’s head. Come on. Even UKIP demanded a referendum on EU membership, not just to withdraw without asking us all first.

As for Labour, well, I am astonished that anyone with a brain cell could fall for such rubbish. Then again most Labour voters haven’t got a braincell between them anyway so nothing surprises me. I am concerned about Labour’s pledge to give everybody a living wage of £10 an hour. Great, I’ll have some of that. But Labour seem to forget one thing. With an increase for everybody surely the money has to come from somewhere.

People do not realise that the price of everything will increase to pay for all these wages. Food, fuel, public transport, etc. will all increase to fill the gap. Of course, free tuition fees are not free as everything has to be paid for. Free broadband for everyone. Of course Labour fails to tell us that we will be offered the slowest, Poundshop version of broadband in existence. I have noticed a pattern regarding Labour. “Free, free, free”. At least Thatcher was right about one thing. The Socialists are very good at spending other people’s money. And you can’t just keep blaming the rich for all the country’s woes. Let us face facts. Years of austerity under the Tories is thanks only to two people. Yes, under Blair and Brown’s leadership this country borrowed its way into debt.

As for the Brexit party, enough said the better. One party, one aim. Brexit but with little else to offer. I am not a Tory but I will be voting Conservative. And I urge those who want Brexit to be done and dusted to also vote blue. If you are a stereotypical northern grassroots “I vote Labour cos me dad voted Labour” Brexiteer remember, Labour will offer you two choices, Brexit or I can’t believe it’s not Brexit. Labour’s idea of a good deal will keep us in the EU in everything but name. I come from a working class family and as Labour stands we would never vote red. Simply because we would never vote for a “Commie”. And I hear those words from most people I talk to. Corbyn is the mother of all Communists.
