Letter: Concern and compassion
In the coming great feast of Christmas, the people of Parkgate, Rotherham, and Stainforth, Doncaster, and surrounding villages of Fishlake have shown the wartime spirit of help for the needy overcome by the floods.
We in Sheffield were thankful that our council, who suffer a lot of abuse, took steps to build up defences around the River Don, with, I might add, money from Europe.

Hide AdSo much for wanting to get Brexit done and become a selfish independent country and having to rely on Donald Trump and America.
We should also remember the people of Venice, Italy, and Sydney, Australia, who are having a terrible time.
At the start of Advent, I ask for two things:-
1. For a radical socialist government that shows concern and compassion for the poor and downtrodden, also the lonely people who are maybe alone at Christmas.
2. That Sheffield United will continue with the great form and consolidate a position of safety in the Premier League.
