Let us know about timetable changes

MY EMPLOYER (University of Sheffield) has an excellent policy of subsidising monthly bus passes to encourage employees to come to work using public transport.

They are doing their bit, but I would like to support the comments made by Harry Liddle regarding problems with bus timetable changes to the 97 service. I use the 98 and found the same problem. I have also had this happen on the 30 service also. I just can’t understand why it is not possible for SYPTE to communicate timetable changes beforehand.

I always look for notices on bus shelters and I pick up leaflets inside buses, but invariably have problems approximately every three months with changes made to these and other services that are not communicated. SYPTE on this occasion sent someone to the bus stop removing the old timetables but still haven’t replaced it with the new information. What use is that?

Bad experiences, like being regularly late for work because of timetable changes and services that don’t turn up does not do much to encourage people to leave their cars behind.
