Labradors are the winners in fun-day

THE Labrador Welfare team would like to express their thanks to all those who attended our fun-day which was held at Rainbow Hill Kennels on Saturday, July 21.

It was good to see so many happy Labradors (and honorary ones) enjoying themselves.

So many of you came to speak to me that unfortunately I didn’t get everyone’s contact details. If I haven’t got back to you please give me a call on (0114) 266 1756.

Our thanks must also go to those who manned our stalls and to the other traders and rescue groups who took part.

So far we have been able to bank over 700 and this will certainly make a difference to our long-term foster dogs. These are Labradors over the age of 10 who would be impossible to re-home without the offer of financial support for veterinary treatment.

We have 27 of these dogs on our books at the present moment and the monthly bill for repeat prescription medicines is in the region of 300. If a dog has needed an operation then the bill is considerably more.

The money you helped us raise means that we will not have to refuse help because there are no funds available.
