Well known names and top businesses have explained why they are championing local journalism.

Six people including Sir Michael Palin and Grammy Award winning producer Eliot Kennedy have explained why they support subscribing to The Star online.

Sir Michael said: “Never has the voice of local journalism been more important and more relevant.”

Eliot Kennedy, meanwhile, said: “I think local journalism is more important than ever right now. It is vital to stay in touch with how times are affecting and changing our community ties and environment. A subscription is well worth it.”
