A number of The Star readers have written in to express their gratitude at the care, patience and consideration being shown when receiving their jabs at a number of centres throughout the city. This is what they had to say about their experience, as well as how their concerns were taken into account.

I would like to thank all involved in running the covid vaccination centre at the Mathews Practice on Asline Road. They could not be more supportive or more efficient. I got a text offering a choice of appointments, chose a time and was vaccinated, all within 24 hours. The service is run by a host of local volunteers who could not be more helpful: from the car park marshalls on the gate to those organising our smooth journey through the surgery. The doctor who gave the jab was happy to answer my questions in full. I was in and out in 15 minutes and that includes the 10 minute wait after the jab in case of side effects - which never came in my case.

Thank you all so much. I woke up this morning feeling so relieved. There is hope at last.

I must endorse Mavis Kirkham’s letter of 11 Jan. I received a call from the Matthews Practice at 11-00a.m.on Saturday and had the injection at 1-15p.m. I made a point at the time of thanking and praising everyone involved for their cheerfulness, efficiency and wonderful organisation. Again,a huge thank you.K.WallaceSheffield 8

Me & my husband were fortunate to get our jabs yesterday at Belgrade MC. The whole thing was surreal and something I will remember forever. It was like a military operation and I can only praise all the people involved who are giving up their time to get us thru this terrible pandemic. Thank you to you all. There is light at the end of the tunnel! If you get the call to get the jab go for it.Sue ThurstonS8

I know many people would wish to thank the many vaccine centres they had the jabs but if I may I have to say I was allocated. to have my vaccine on the 22nd December at The Flowers surgery Sheffield s5 which is not my own surgery I was very apprehensive of going to somewhere I was not use to the surroundings once I was there I was made to feel very important the Nursing Staff was so caring very much in control of all my needs I honestly did not even no the nurse had given me my vaccine no after effects whatsoever and during my 15. Mins after my jab 2 nurses kept asking if I was OK before I was all allowed home Thank you so much to Flowers surgery all my worries was over as soon as I entered the centre
