Hero Mandela

TERRY Palmer's ludicrous letter denouncing Nelson Mandela as a terrorist whose 27 years imprisonment on the notorious Robben Island was a model of justice cannot go unanswered.

Under the apartheid system, 84% of the South African population were denied all rights by the remaining 16% solely on the basis of the colour of their skin.

Mandela always rejected terrorism. When the ANC, with huge support in Britain and worldwide, overcame apartheid and established a non-racial democracy in their country they sought reconciliation not revenge.
