Good luck to our newest council 'party' ... they will need it!
IN the unlikely event that the new found political duo of Anne Smith (Tory) and Martin Davis (Independent) turn out to be the new broom come to sweep clean and bring some logic to the thinking within city chambers, may I be one of the first to congratulate them.
Alas, any fruiterer will tell you that can’t put two new apples into a barrel full of old ones and expect them to change the rotted skins of the old ones. More so would I suggest it to be as the old verse - when I was a child I thought as a child etc. Would it not be best then for “them” to learn to walk first? (accepting, of course, that it is also true someone has got to make a start somewhere). This being the case, I truly wish them well.
