Give some credit to the hard work and effort put in by students

What a typical cynical statement by P Farmery (Aug 20): if the A level results are good the exams are too easy, if they're bad, the schools are useless. I've seen at first hand the work my daughters have put in to achieve the results they have. If the exams are so easy, why stay up half the night studying?

It's about time people like P Farmery gave some encouragment to today's youth and stop rubbishing what they've achieved. Don't forget, these kids are the future. I hope they're a lot more understanding and far-sighted in their generation than P Farmery.
