Strictly Social Distancing?

I know it all sounds inconsequential in view of so many lives and businesses lost in the present Covidian era, but it appears that Strictly is still in the autumn agenda.

It is going to reinvent itself allegedly!

It should be renamed Strictly Come Social Distancing for a start.

Apparently, the live audience will be abolished and the contestants and their pro dancer partners will isolate together.

Well, we all know what that can lead to – watch out other halves.

Covid-19 may not strike, but the Strictly curse could.

I wonder who they'll choose as contestants? Probably celebs who've already had the big cv and recovered. Matt Hancock and Nadine Dorries may even get a call.

It could end up a right mixture of herd immunity and a herd of elephants.

As for the outfits, I don't think they'll go as far as masks and gowns, but I'd be prepared for anything.

What will they dance to? Probably The Police’s Don't Stand So Close to Me, or Bette Midler’s From a Distance.

Tess and Claudia will be standing at least two metres apart, I should think.

Anyway, the producers may be thinking ahead, but being the cautious type, I don't think I will be – it's Strictly one day at a time for me.

We can only wait and see, but let's face it we all have much more pressing issues in y his crazy covidian world we are inhabiting!

Thank you to our postal workers

Over the last few weeks we have been inundated with messages and pictures from our customers across South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in praise of the extra lengths our postmen and women have been going to during the coronavirus crisis. Thank you to your readers for taking the time to show their appreciation.

We know how much people like to say hi or have a chat with their postie on the doorstep, but during this time, we need to find new ways of staying connected whilst also protecting our communities. This is why we’ve launched our ‘Thumbs-up’ campaign. It’s a simple way for the public to say thanks and stay connected with their local postie, while respecting the Government’s social distancing rules. This safe distance is just over the height of a Royal Mail postbox away. Giving a thumbs up is also a handy reminder not to reach out to try and take parcels direct from your postie to ensure contact free delivery.

We’ve made it easy for your readers can become involved and show their appreciation. ‘Thumbs- Up’ templates are available from royalmail.com to download, decorate and put in their front windows. The bolder, the more creative and colourful the better. And we’d love to see your Thumbs Up selfies, using the hashtag #ThumbsUpForYourPostie.

We’re really proud of what our postmen and women are doing in these challenging times, and we know you’ll want to join us in thanking them for everything they’re doing. We look forward to seeing your colourful creations, and stunning selfies.
