Beer-drinking yobs create hazard on new play area

I walked through the new park play area on Gleadless Common, across from Durlstone Crescent.

As it had only recently been finished, I thought it would be nice to go and look at the toddler/junior play area. There are some nice things for the youngsters to enjoy but it was spoilt by graffiti and litter.

On walking up to the teenager area of football pitches, of which there are three, also a basketball/goal shooting area, seating and climbing walls, I was shocked to see graffiti on those as well.

But what really made me angry was those same beer -drinking idiots were not content to leave their tins and litter around, but had smashed the bottles on the climbing wall, making it dangerous for anyone to use.

Teenagers cry out saying they have nothing to do or nowhere to go to meet friends, but when thousands of pounds are spent on them to enjoy doing things together, what do they do but destroy it.
