Opening date confirmed for new £50m retail park in Sheffield

A brand new £50million retail park, which has attracted a number of popular retailers, is set to open in the north of Sheffield next month.

The Fox Valley retail park in Stocksbridge is set to open its doors on June 16, and among the shops due to start trading on the same day is a 20,000 square foot Aldi - which will be the largest in the region. Other stores due to open at the same time include Pets at Home, Regatta, Full Gas Bikes and the Cornish fashion and homewares brand Seasalt.

Food and drink outlets including Ponti’s Italian Kitchen and the Central Bean coffee shop are also set to open at the retail park.

Simon McIlwraith of Collective Design, which is managing the development of both projects, said: “We are on schedule on both Ponti’s Italian Kitchen and the coffee shop and our teams are really working round the clock to ensure everything is ready for the opening.

“This is a fantastic project to be involved with, with the Ponti’s design we’ve taken inspiration from the Emilia Romagna region which is the restaurant’s culinary home so we hope the customers will be as impressed with the design as they are with the fantastic food.”

Other coffee shops and restaurants due to open at Fox Valley include Costa Coffee and NYC Bar and Grill. Edinburgh Woollen Mills will open on June 23, and the new store will also house a Peacocks and Ponden Mills.

Work is also underway on the internal design of both Champley’s Shoes and Sorelle Jewellers ready for opening in June. A second phase of store openings will follow in September when the centre’s boutique department store Sandersons will open as well as M&Co and Next.
