Open garden for Aurora

Have your say

Hatfield ward Doncaster borough councillor Pat Knighy is holding an Open Garden in aid of the Aurora Centre later this month.

The event on Saturday, July 30, will be opened by the Civic Mayor Councillor Eva Hughes, who is backing the charity as part of her year in office.

Mrs Knight and her husband, former councillor and civic mayor Ken, have been tending to their garden for almost a quarter of a century. Visitors will be able to enjoy the lawns, sweeping flowerbeds and ‘secret garden’.

The Aurora Centre offers non clinical treatment to cancer patients, such as beauty therapy, to improve their state of mind.

The event is taking place at 238 Broadway, Dunscroft, between 11am and 5pm. Entry is £2. All proceeds will go to the Aurora Centre.
