one Direction fans can put the date in their diary now after fevered speculation about when Louis Tomlinson would make his appearance on a South Yorkshire soccer pitch.
Doncaster Rovers have confirmed their XI will play Branton pub team Three Horse Shoes – financed by the boyband star – at the Keepmoat Stadium on October 22.
And fans have only to wait until next Monday to get their hands on a ticket for the charity match in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston.
Thousands of fans, mostly teenage girls, are expected to flock to the Keepmoat in the sure knowledge they will see Louis playing for his Sunday league pub team. Rovers manager Dean Saunders is expected to play for the opposition.
Louis, from Bessacarr, played for the Three Horse Shoes team before his rise to fame and stepped in to aid his former club after learning of their struggle to find money to fund a new kit.
The soccer-mad singer will make a comeback in the specially arranged game which will see him join his former team-mates to face the Doncaster Rovers XI. The game will kick off at 6.30pm.
