Old iPod recall alert

Have your say

APPLE make marvellous products – apart from the one that overheats.

The computer giant has issued a recall on all first generation iPod nanos.

A dodgy battery is to blame and the risk increases the older they get.

To check, go on the website and input the unit’s serial number. A replacement will be sent in six weeks.

One Action Desk reader received a sixth generation 8Gb nano, worth more than £100. It is not much bigger than a postage stamp.

Affected iPod nanos were sold between September 2005 and December 2006.

A spokesman said: “We have determined that, in very rare cases, the battery may overheat.”
