Old folk wanted in people's parliament

ELDERLY people in Doncaster who want to become representatives on the town's Older People's Parliament are being invited to a meeting.

The event takes place tomorrow at the Salvation Army Community Centre, Lakeside, between 9.30am and 1.30pm

The parliament, which is due to sit in April 2008, will give older people in the borough a voice, acting as an advisory body to the council, primary care health trust and other agencies on issues important to pensioners.

Anyone attending the meeting will be able to find out about how to be elected a member, and the responsibilities. Contact Age Concern on 01302 812345.
