SOUTH Yorkshire found itself covered in snow once again at the weekend - but this time the results lasted only a few hours.
The first snowflakes fell overnight on Friday and continued into Saturday morning, covering the area in several centimetres of snow.
Sledges were dusted off again and children built snowmen and took part in snowball fights.
Public transport across the region continued to run smoothly, with only some minor disruption.
Problems included a bus getting stuck at the bottom of Heavygate Road, Crookes - preventing others from accessing the number 52 terminus there - and the 51 service finished at Gleadless Townend rather than continuing on to Charnock.
But by midday the snowfall had stopped and was replaced by rain which helped to clear the slush and snow from the roads.
Rain has been forecast for Sheffield today with maximum temperatures of two degrees.
