OAP stripped of jewellery

An ELDERLY woman was dragged to the floor and stripped of her gold bangles during a robbery at her Sheffield home.

The masked intruder got into a house on Andover Street, Burngreave, at around 2.15pm on Sunday, June 5, and approached the 79-year-old woman, grabbing six bangles from her wrist and pulling her to the floor.

The victim suffered minor injuries to her wrist, arms and head.

The man left with the jewellery via the rear of the property and headed in the direction of Richmond Street. Officers believe he could then have gone towards Somerset Road or back onto Andover Street.

The rigid gold bangles are all identical, of Asian design, with an alternate square/line engraved design.

Police say the robber was black with very dark skin, approximately 6ft, slim, with very dark eyes and bright whites of the eyes. He wore a black balaclava, black gloves and blue jeans.
