Pexton Grange residents and staff are turning the place blue to help fight the disease for the Alzheimer's Society's National Dementia Awareness Week.

They're wearing blue - the colour of dementia awareness - and hosting coffee mornings and tea dances to help with the cause.

The Pitsmoor nursing home's activity co-ordinator, Abbie Robinson, said those in its care were happy to raise any amount to fight the disease.

"We'd just like to make as much as we can, really," she said.

The residents' families, she said, are always keen to get involved.

"Everyone always mucks in and gets it done," Miss Robinson said.
