Nurses agency opts to move operations

The 11-strong team at Local Care Force now operates out of a revamped former cafe on Campo Lane in the city’s Cathedral Quarter. It features spray painted walls and exteriors by local artist Pete Barber, three interview rooms and a training room.

The Sheffield branch looks after 400 temporary nurses, care workers and support workers and supplies more than 75 organisations with 600 different services.

Elaine Adams, branch manager, said; “Relocating to our new premises is just the start of great things. We opened our doors in the city in 2010 and have experienced consistent year-on-year growth.

“This new office space and specially designed frontage, will hopefully ensure that we are the first choice for anyone looking for work in the industry, and increase footfall into the branch.

“We are also especially excited about the new training facility which will allow us to grow that side of the business and to continue to fulfil the existing requirements. We provide specialist training to ensure that everyone on our books is up to date at all times, enabling them to provide the best possible care to all patients and clients.

“We also offer ‘The Care Certificate’ training for anyone looking to move into the care industry and so our new training suite will also support this greatly.”

Established in 2004, the business also has offices in Leeds and Manchester and has plans to open a fourth branch in York this year.

Business hit £12m last year and Sheffield achieved almost £3 million, an increase of 28 per cent in the past 16 months.

Over the last decade, Local Care Force has grown by up to 30 per cent year-on-year and its 1,200 temps do more than 19,000 hours of care a week.

It works with more than 158 organisations across 2,743 sites and supplies regular and specialist nurses .

They provide 24-hour care, including palliative, for those at the end of their lives.
