A specialist Multiple Sclerosis nurse from Woodseats is celebrating after he completed a charity bike ride from London to Paris.

Liam Rice, from Marshall Road, Woodseats, pedalled 300 miles to get to the French capital.

He successfully completed the journey in under four days.

Liam was raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.

He works as a specialist nurse at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.

At the end of his trip, Liam was pictured by the Eiffel Tower, holding his bike triumphantly aloft.

Liam said: “It was an amazing experience that everyone should try at least once.”

Setting off from London, the group made their way along the south Downs to Dover.

After a ferry to Calais they pedalled through rural France passing historical landmarks and famous battlefields from World War I.

Getting home was easier– the team caught the Eurostar back to St Pancras.
