Nuhiu agrees new long-term Owls deal

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed striker Atdhe Nuhiu has agreed a new two-and-a-half-year contract.

The former Austrian Under-21 international joins Jack Hunt and Barry Bannan in committing his long-term future to the Championship club, who lie just outside the play-off zone.

Nuhiu joined the Owls on a free transfer in July 2013, netting on his debut against Queens Park Rangers.

The former Rapid Vienna player was Wednesday’s top-scorer last season, hitting 11 goals, including a memorable strike in their heart-breaking FA Cup defeat away to Manchester City.

In total, the 26-year-old has clocked up 118 appearances, finding the back of the net 23 times. He has played 28 times this term, registering four goals.
