Now that's what I call great service
The branch must have weighed around one ton and with ancillary growth it was 30ft long.
Monday I rang the council at 8.10am, after a 20-minute wait my call was answered and I gave the woman who answered all the relevant information on where this branch was lying.

Hide AdI couldn’t have been more precise. At 9.10am I heard one of the excellent estate teams on Spotswood Close, so I thought, I’ll nip down and ask them if they knew about the branch.
What message they had received pointed to a very small branch which a child of three could have moved.
They realised that nobody would have reported such a little piece of tree.
I pointed out the proper branch, and at 9.15am they contacted their base and informed me that a tree surgeon would be along to cut up the offending branch and thus remove it.

Hide AdAfter returning home at 11.30am, there wasn’t a trace of a branch, it had been cut up and hauled away.
The only thing you could see was a few oak leaves on the ground and a damaged part of a fence.
So in just over two hours, my phone call about the branch had been dealt with by the council.
Now that’s what I call service.
Some aspects of the council leave a lot to be desired but the estate teams are second to none and Damon Pass who has these teams under his remit also needs a pat on the back.
Thanks to all for a hard job quickly sorted and dealt with.
