Novel about migrants in Sheffield wins literary prize

A book about migrant workers in Sheffield has scooped a major literature prize.

The literature prize at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards was awarded to Sunjeev Sahota for The Year of the Runaways, his second novel.

The book is about the experience of three migrant workers in Sheffield and was also shortlisted for the 2015 Man Booker prize.

Sunjeev, who was born in 1981, grew up in Chesterfield, north Derbyshire.
