Not so sad

Have your say

I’ve no idea whether or not Terry Palmer is an ex-miner, as BT of Chesterfield assumes, (letters, July 22).

What is clear from Mr Palmer’s contributions to your letters pages, however, is that he’s far from being the ‘very sad man’ of BT’s assertion.

It’s not the person whose engagement with the world on behalf of the poor and disadvantaged who’s sad but the person who, hiding behind his initials, attacks him from the perspective of the party responsible for increasing poverty and disadvantage.

And if Terry Palmer was indeed a miner, to be told ‘get a life’ by someone who supports the party that ruthlessly undermined that life and the lives of hundreds of thousands of others must seem the definition of impertinence.
