The Dons will also set a new club record of nine successive league wins if they come away with the spoils.

That would also equal their record of nine league and cup wins set in the same season.

Both records were set in the 1993-94 season which ended with the club winning promotion to the top flight for the first and only time in their history.

Crusaders, who ran the Dons close when the two sides met at the Keepmoat Stadium earlier in the season, are also on a good run and go into the game on the back of three successive wins.

Dons skipper Ryan Boyle certainly expects a tougher game than in the corresponding fixture last season when the visitors romped to a 44-8 win.

He says Newcastle's recent win over Workington Town will also ensure there is no complacency.

Yet he remains confident of the outcome despite the fact that the predicted rain in the area is more likely to help the Welsh side.

'We have been one the form teams in the whole of the three divisions over the last couple of months and we are peaking at the right time,' he said.

'We only need to win one of our two remaining games to retain third place and hopefully we'll get that on Sunday.

'We'd have settled for where we are today at the start of last month when we'd have been happy just being in the top five.'Â
