Colliver says: “We have 12 games left, it’s vital we pick up as many results as we can from them and finish as high up as possible, then we can start to look towards next season. I’ve had a chat with the players, they’re a positive bunch but I don’t think there has been that togetherness for one reason or another.

“We’re down where we are for a reason, the results haven’t been good enough. But I’m confident we can put that right and start to move up the table.”

Gresley arrive on the back of 2-0 home win against Spalding earlier in the week that lifted them up to 13th in Division One South five places and six-points above Sheffield. Colliver said: “I’ve spoken to a few people about Gresley and they’ve all told me they are in a false position, although they will be without Gary Ricketts through suspension, which helps.”

Colliver revealed that former Owls and Blades defender Derek Geary will be coming in to help out. “Del helped out at when I was at Staveley and Clipstone. He’s well liked and good to have around, his experience is invaluable” he said.

Promotion hopefuls Stocksbridge Park Steels go to bottom of the table Tividale, a game in which they simply have to take three-points. Despite a 2-1 home reversal against third from bottom Goole on Tuesday, Steels remain five points outside the play-off places.

Steels boss Chris Hilton is looking for a positive response following the defeat: “We’ve got to go their and make sure we look after the ball like we do and make sure we’re more ruthless when we’re on top. We’ve not done that too well in the last couple of games but if we apply ourselves we should come away with the result we want.

“It was a blow to our promotion-push losing in midweek, but then again others around us also lost. There are still plenty of games left. We won’t be taking Tividale lightly. We have to go there and do a job.” Joe Lumsden is a doubt for the trip.

It will be a buoyant Shaw Lane Aquaforce that host mid-table Market Drayton Town following last weekend 1-0 win at runaway leaders Stafford Rangers. In the Premier Division, Frickley Athletic will travel Barwell in confident mood following Tuesday’s 3-2 win at leaders Blyth Spartans that kept the Blues outside play-off hopes alive.
