Nominations are being sought for annual awards that recognise those who have made a difference to communities in Rotherham.

The names of organisations or individuals are being urged to be put forward for the 11th Community Achievement Awards.

The awards are organised by Voluntary Action Rotherham on behalf of the Rotherham Partnership and celebrate the work of individuals and projects that have made a significant change to life in the town.

There are three categories – volunteer, young volunteer under 25, and project.

Janet Wheatley, chief executive at Voluntary Action Rotherham, said “Rotherham’s Community Achievement Awards are a special celebration.

“They recognise the significant work of people and projects in our borough that go that extra mile to support local people and communities.”

Nomination forms are available at or by calling Voluntary Action Rotherham on 01709 829821. Completed forms should be returned by Friday, August 29.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in November.
