Noel Gallagher tells Sheffield Tramlines crowd 'The best thing to come out of Yorkshire is the teabags'

Former Oasis front man Noel Gallagher brought the banter to the crowds in Yorkshire on Saturday as he performed at Tramlines Festival.

The Manchester-born star, touring with his High Flying Birds band, put on a smash set which included new material mixed with Oasis favourites like Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger.

However, the Lancastrian couldn't let the opportunity to have a little fun with the crowd pass him by.

Noel asked who in the crowd was from Manchester, which was followed by a handful of cheers and quite a few boos.

After chants of 'Yorkshire, Yorkshire, Yorkshire!', Noel Gallagher told the crowd 'Really?', before adding 'The best thing to come out of Yorkshire is the f****** teabags. And you know it'.

The crowd took the banter in good spirits, also taking the chance to sing 'Football's Coming Home' after a brief silence, probably in reference to comments Noel Gallagher made at a gig during the World Cup when he said 'it's not coming home'.The event was packed out for Noel Gallagher's performance, with over 30,000 people enjoying the atmosphere and the audience cheered loudly for the ex-Oasis star right to the end.
