Noddy raises NSPCC cash

CHILDREN'S favourite Noddy will drop in at a South Yorkshire nursery to help raise funds for charity and see how the centre has recovered from the floods.

Daisy Chain Childcare at Parkgate, Rotherham, set out to raise 1,000 for the NSPCC through a series of children’s fun events and has almost reached its target.

Director Jo Gomersall said “We are so proud of the achievements of the children raising such a fantastic amount for others less fortunate than themselves. We are hoping to top the 1,000 target this Saturday at our open day.

“Amongst other activities, Noddy is coming to visit us and the Strata Brass Band will be entertaining our visitors.”

Daisy Chain caters for children aged from three months to school age and has been completely refurbished after floods devastated part of Parkgate.

Nursery manager Emma Battersby said: “We were affected very badly but every cloud has a silver lining and we are very pleased with our new equipment and totally refurbished nursery. Every one is welcome on Saturday to come in and see the nursery and meet our staff team.”
