No peace in gardens

On Bank Holiday Monday I took Supertram to Sheffield city centre and alighted at Castle Square.

After purchasing my Star I proceeded up High Street and then battled my way up Fargate ducking and diving past numerous market stalls, past the flying chairs and on to the Peace Gardens where I was confronted by stalls, stalls, and more stalls.

It was hopeless trying to find a seat to quietly read my paper so I gave up, tucked the paper in my bag and caught the next tram home, feeling very despondent that the council had the audacity to fill the anything but peaceful gardens with market stalls.

The Sheffield council of 1985 would be up in arms with the way the gardens have been used these days.
