Despite driving rain and gale force winds battering the region again last night, South Yorkshire Fire and rescue reported no major damage was caused.

The emergency service did receive a number of calls to incidents of flooding and roof tiles being blown off buildings but none were of significance.

Forecasters predict that the bad weather is set to cotinue from today onwards with wintry showers and severe winds continuing.
