Nineteen men charged with violent disorder after Britain First protest in Rotherham to appear in court

Nineteen men have been charged with violent disorder offences following the Britain First demonstration in Rotherham wil appear in court next week.

The men, 15 from Rotherham and four from West Yorkshire, were charged at the beginning of the month following planned arrests in October, in relation to violent disorder offences in the Wellgate area of Rotherham on Saturday, 5 September.

On Monday, the following men will appear at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court charged with violent disorder:

Mahroof Sultan, 36, of Grosvenor Road, Eastwood

Haseeb Alam, 18, of Selwyn Street, Eastwood

Abrar Javid, 37, of St Johns Road, Eastwood

Sadaqat Ali, 39, of Milton Road, Eastwood

Mohammed Saleem, 43, of Mount Street, Rotherham,

Arshad Khan, 44, of Wellgate Mount, Rotherham,

Shaban Ditta, 31, of Cambridge Crescent, East Dene,

Akaash Nazir, 21, Cow Rakes Lane, Whiston,

Imran Iqbal, 29, Clough Road, Masbrough,

Nasrum Rashid, 21, of Fraser Road, Broom

A 17-year-old from Masbrough who cannot be named for legal reasons

Asif Zaman, 47, of Wellgate Mount, Rotherham, will also appear charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

All the offences occurred following the demonstration at about 4.30pm in Rotherham town centre.

The remaining seven men will appear at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday December 3:
