1) Revamp your wardrobe the Common Thread way this Saturday June 30, from 1pm to 4pm, at Union St.

Bring a bag of clean clothes in good condition, donate them to the exchange, browse the stock, and take home a nearly new bag of clohtes. The June Clothes Exchange is local, affordable, ethical and eco-friendly. There is also a repair salon, to repair broken clothing, and a cafe serving refreshments. 2) Take a fun and informative tour of Renishaw Hall’s historic vineyard this Sunday July 1. The 90-minute tour kicks off at 12pm, and will include a detailed tasting of the Hall’s award-winning English wines, plus the chance to learn all about the vineyard season, and the cycle of the vine. 3) Music fans are invited to Sheffield Botanical Gardens this Saturday night, on June 30, for the biggest music party of the year.

4) Join the first-ever Yoga and Vegan festival in Sheffield at Firth Park Academy, on Fircroft Avenue, this Sunday July 1 from 9am to 5.15pm.

Participate in all-day yoga and meditation sessions at the festival - which aims to celebrate yoga and veganism. There will be five rooms running all day long at the venue, with yoga and meditation sessions, talks and sessions for children. There will also be three stalls areas where you can find vegan beauty products, accessories, bags, shoes and lots of yummy vegan food with gluten-free options.

5) Visit Southbank Warehouse, on Effingham Road, this Saturday June 30, for new monthly street food market, bringing you a carefully selected group of award-winning street food traders each month.

Expect award winning street food to cater for every foodie taste, alongside amazing drinks, craft ales, live music, DJ’s and artists. Set in the 9,000 sq ft Southbank Warehouse, the Canalside Night Market kicks off at 2pm on Saturday.

6) Ever wanted to learn more about Sheffield’s history? Why not start with a fascinating glimpse into Sheffield’s Victorian past, on a guided tour of the Grade II* listed historic Sheffield General Cemetery. Meet the residents who shaped city history, from Mark Firth and Samuel Holberry, to the Cole Brothers and George Bassett. Discover the stories behind some 87,000 burials, see the French-inspired catacombs and the listed monuments and structures. Meet at The Gatehouse this Sunday July 1, at 2pm.

7) Meet the ghosts of the National Emergency Service Museum this weekend.

The building, on West Bar, is regularly investigated by ghost hunters, and Friday June 29, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, it will be hosting a special closed doors tour.

The event is not a ghost hunt, but visitors are invited to bring their cameras, recording equipment, thermometers and ESP metres to help capture the museum at its spookiest. Visit wegottickets.com to book.

8) The year is 1484 and the household troops from the War of the Roses visit Bishops’ House.

Warriors will demonstrate their skill at arms with the weapons and armour of the era, this Saturday June 30 and Sunday July 1, from 11am. Archers will display the armament that has helped England win so many campaigns. Visit the house and gardens, and talk to the troops. Handle armour, weapons and other everyday items of the period, and try out kid’s crafts. With battles at 11.30am and 2pm. £3 entry.

9) Join dance teacher Zoe Carter at the Park Hill Amphitheatre, Cholera Monument Grounds, on Norfolk Road, this Sunday July 1, for an afternoon of salsa dancing in the sun.

Attendees are invited to bring a picnic and a blanket or chairs, and dress comfortably for a chilled afternoon of hip wiggling dancing fun, to a mix of music - from salsa, bachata, kizomba, and reggae. The afternoon’s fun will kick off at 1pm, just behind the train station.
