Nick Clegg pinata attacked in ‘act of dissent’ stunt

Have your say

An ‘act of dissent’ by a political comedian was staged at Sheffield’s Peace Gardens today.

Mark Thomas set up a pinata of Deputy Prime Minister MP Nick Clegg ‘full of broken promises and sweets’ before asking members of the public to break it apart.

The stunt is part of 100 such acts being performed by Mr Thomas across the country ahead of a show and art exhibition in Sheffield later this month.

A spokesman for Nick Clegg said the ‘vast majority’ of the Liberal Democract manifesto has been delivered, and that the current economic recovery would not have happened without Lib Dems in government.
