The Leopard in West Street has been decked out with a number of colourful poppy flags ahead of Remembrance Sunday tomorrow – despite being closed until December 2 as part of the four week nationwide lockdown in England.

Nicky Hepple, who works at the Flying Scotsman health care centre which is opposite the pub said: “They always go above and beyond even in these hard times.

"We all work at The Flying Scotsman Health Centre looking over at this pub and it is always so lovely outside and often brightens up our difficult days!

“They always do something lovely outside whether it be beautiful hanging baskets or Yorshire Day flags and it's so nice to look out onto. We feel they need recognition.”
