NEWS IN BRIEF: Woman charged with conspiracy

A WOMAN arrested following the discovery of a man’s body in Barnsley has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, and not an additional murder charge.

Kerry Musgrave, aged 31, was charged after 41-year-old Shane Beadling was found dead at a house on Bartholomew Street, Wombwell.

Co-accused Garry Count, 32, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Musgrave and Count, both of Bartholomew Street, were remanded in custody at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court.

Power goes out

A FAULT in an electrical substation left hundreds of homes without power in Sheffield on Tuesday night.

The power cut affected around 400 homes in Middlewood. The incident was reported at 7.45pm, and power was restored an hour later.

Fire out of control

FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a bonfire which spread in a back garden in Barnsley. Residents at the property on Coronation Street, Monk Bretton, were burning garden waste.
