NEWS IN BRIEF: Two teenagers hurt after car hits wall

TWO teenagers were injured when the car they were travelling in left the road.

The black Vauxhall Astra is believed to have crossed to the other side of the carriageway on Broom Road, Herringthorpe, and hit a street light then a wall.

The driver, an 18-year-old Whiston man, had slight whiplash. His passenger, a 15-year-old also from Whiston, was treated for severe neck injuries, in the crash at 11.30pm on Saturday. Call police on 101.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Dobcroft Junior School, Pingle Road, Millhouses, Sheffield, after a storage heater caught fire. It smoked logged a pre-fabricated building. The incident was reported at 6.30pm on Sunday.

A FORD Transit van found burning on Wybourn House Road, Wybourn, Sheffield, had been set alight deliberately. Firefighters tackled the blaze at 10.15pm on Sunday.
