POLICE are investigating two thefts from two unlocked cars in Sheffield.

A vehicle was broken into in Harbord Road, Woodseats, at 2am on Monday and another targeted on nearby Cobnar Road overnight last Friday into Saturday.

Two other cars parked on Holmhirst Road, Woodseats and Norton Lawns, Norton, were broken into overnight on Thursday into Friday last week.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to deal with a group of wheelie bins which were alight behind homes on California Street, Worsbrough Common, Barnsley.

The cause of the blaze at 10.20pm on Wednesday is not yet known.

A BURGLAR broke into a house on Joshua Road, Nether Edge, Sheffield, when French doors were forced open.

The burglary was reported during daylight hours last Friday.

A MAN was arrested by police after a burglar who struck at the Hilton Hotel, Meadowhead, Sheffield, was captured on CCTV cameras.

The offence was committed on August 29.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a Sheffield factory after a piece of machinery developed a fault and caught fire yesterday morning.

Crews were called to Roebuck and Clarke on Meadow Bank Road, Rotherham, at 6am.

Staff had been evacuated when they arrived.

A POLICE probe is underway into the break-in of a house on Ratcliffe Road, Sharrow Vale, Sheffield, overnight last Sunday.

The incident is being treated as a ‘sneak-in’ burglary.
