A TEENAGE drama student has become the youngest director of Barnsley’s Thurgoland Thespians since the group was first founded 39 years ago.

Sarah Hayter, 14, a pupil at Penistone Grammar School, has taken charge of the production of James and the Giant Peach and its cast of around 40 children. Performances continue this afternoon at 5.30pm.

The next 20’s Plenty for Sheffield meeting takes place upstairs at The Rutland Arms pub in Brown Street on Monday.

Guest speaker at the event about speed limits on city streets will be Danny Dorling, Professor of Human Geography at The University of Sheffield.
