FAMOUS Mexborough boxing champion Iron Hague is the subject of a talk in Doncaster tomorrow by the man who has written a book about him.

Giles Brearley will be at Cusworth Hall Museum from 2pm talking about the man who was English Heavyweight Champion between 1909 and 1911.

Like lichens?

professor Mark Seaward will be giving an illustrated talk on lichens and their role in shaping our world for members of Doncaster Naturalists’ Society at Doncaster Museum on Wednesday, February 1, at 2.30pm. The event is also open to the public.

Jazz session

the next Jazz Into Doncaster gig at the Conservative Club on South Parade on Thursday, January 26, features Winston’s Pennine Jazz band. The session starts at 8.30pm and admission on the door is £5.

Getting together

tickhill Churches Together has organised a Unity Supper in the Methodist Schoolroom on Tuesday, January 17, at 7pm which will be attended by Church of England, Methodist and Catholic worshippers.
