THE UK’s future business leaders descend on Sheffield next weekend for the Junior Chamber National Convention for business people and professionals in their 20s and 30s. About 200 will be at the event from Friday until Sunday at the Royal Victoria Holiday Inn.

Apple of his eye

STUDENT Callum Tongue, aged 17, is celebrating after winning an Apple iPad 2 in a competition run by Travel South Yorkshire. Callum, from Woodhouse, won a draw at a Travel South Yorkshire Open Day at Sheffield College.

Campus sold

A FORMER Chesterfield College campus at Clowne, North Derbyshire, is to be bought by Bolsover Council. The council will use some of the buildings as offices and retain the leisure facilities for public use. The Government needs to approve the sale before it can be completed.

Band tuning up

WOODHOUSE Prize Bband members are gearing up for their Christmas concert next Friday, November 25. The evening of festive music at St James Church, Woodhouse, starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £4, including refreshments, on the door.
