A MEET-your-neighbour ‘speed dating’ event will bring a touch of fun to a community forum members’ evening at the Old Junior School, Sharrow, Sheffield, this Thursday.
The event, from 6.30pm to 8pm, includes a buffet and entertainment, and invites Sharrow residents to share thoughts on local issues and solutions, ideas on the direction of the forum and to contribute to local events and activities.
HORSE owners are being warned to be on the lookout for signs of equine strangles following outbreaks in Dronfield and Chesterfield. The disease is a highly contagious respiratory infection which can kill horses. Symptoms include fever, nasal discharge and abscesses in the lymph nodes on the head.
Mental health issues
MENTAL health issues are bringing more young people into the counselling room, according to Relate staff. Jane Batch, South Yorkshire development coordinator for Relate, said: “Relate often sees young people who have many feelings they don’t understand.”

ALL the fun of the fair is promised when a traditional fairground arrives in Sheffield this Friday. Farrar’s Mega Family Fun Fair will be on Granville Road, until March 11, open from 5pm on weekdays and 1pm at weekends.
